You can chat with other Luma users through direct messages and group chats. Chat is available on the web and iOS app.

## Direct Messages and Groups

Send one-on-one messages with any Luma user by clicking the chat icon and searching for someone.

You can also create group chats with multiple people. Give your group a name and avatar. Admins can add or remove participants.

## Reactions and Replies

You can react to messages with any emoji, and reply to specific messages to keep conversations organized.

## Safety and Privacy

**Muting Conversations**

If you want to stop receiving notifications from a chat, you can mute it temporarily or forever. Open the conversation info and select **Mute**. You’ll still see new messages when you open the app.

**Blocking Users**

If someone is bothering you, you can [block them](/p/blocking-users). This prevents them from starting new conversations with you, and any existing conversation will be archived.

You can block someone from their profile page or from the conversation details via the **...** menu.

**Reporting Inappropriate Content**

If you receive spam, harassment, or inappropriate messages, you can report it.

On iOS: Open the conversation details and tap the **More** menu to find **Report User**. Provide details about what happened.

Our team will review your report and take action. All reports are confidential.
