Luma uses iOS Live Activities to show real-time event information on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. This gives you quick access to event details, directions, and tickets without opening the app.

## What Live Activities Show

When a Live Activity is active, you’ll see:

- **Event name** and **start time**
- A **countdown** before the event starts (e.g., “5m”, “1h”)
- **LIVE** indicator once the event is underway
- **Location** or venue name for in-person events
- **Platform** (e.g., Zoom) for virtual events

The Live Activity also includes action buttons:

- **Directions** — opens Maps to navigate to the venue
- **Open Ticket** — shows your ticket QR code for check-in (for guests)
- **Join** — opens the virtual event link (for online events)
- **Open Scanner** — opens the check-in scanner (for hosts)

## When Live Activities Appear

Live Activities appear **1 hour before** an event starts and stay visible until the event ends (up to 4 hours total). They only appear for events you are attending or hosting — not for events you’ve only been invited to but haven’t registered for.

## How to Dismiss a Live Activity

**Temporarily hide it:** Swipe left or right on the Live Activity in the Dynamic Island or on the Lock Screen. It may reappear when the event status changes (e.g., when it goes live).

**Tap it to open the event:** Tapping the Live Activity opens the event in the Luma app.

## How to Turn Off Live Activities

If you don’t want Luma to show Live Activities at all, you can disable them in your iPhone settings:

1. Open the **Settings** app
2. Scroll down and tap **Luma**
3. Toggle off **Live Activities**

This stops all Live Activities from Luma. You can re-enable them anytime by toggling it back on.

## Troubleshooting

**Live Activities aren’t showing up**

Make sure Live Activities are enabled in Settings → Luma → Live Activities. Live Activities appear on the Lock Screen on all iPhones running iOS 16.1 or later, and in the Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro and later.

**A Live Activity is showing for an event I didn’t register for**

Live Activities should only appear for events you’ve registered for or are hosting.
