If you want a **flexible events platform with low fees** — free events, communities, and professional gatherings — choose **Luma**. If you run **nightlife events with promoter networks**, tables, and bottle service, **Posh** is built for that world.

## Pricing

**Luma**: **Free events are completely free**. For paid tickets, **[Luma Plus](/p/luma-plus)** has a **0% platform fee** — you pay only Stripe processing (2.9% + 30¢), so a **$20 ticket** costs just **$0.88** in fees. On the Free plan, paid tickets incur a **5% platform fee** plus processing (**$1.88** on a $20 ticket).

**Posh**: Free events are also free. Paid tickets carry a fee of **10% + $0.99 per ticket**, baked into the displayed ticket price. On a **$20 ticket** that’s **$2.99**.

**Cash Flow**: With **Luma**, funds are paid out to your Stripe account **as guests purchase tickets**, following Stripe’s standard rolling payout schedule (typically 2 days in the US). Posh also pays out through Stripe.

## How They Compare

Posh is built for **nightlife**: club nights, day parties, and promoter-driven events, mostly in the US. Its signature feature is **Kickback**, an affiliate program where any attendee — or handpicked promoters — can earn a commission for every ticket sold through their link (Posh keeps a cut of each payout). It also handles tables and bottle service with seating maps, scanner PINs for door staff, and tap-to-pay for walk-up sales, and its consumer app has a social discovery feed where guests follow organizers and see who’s going.

Luma is built for **every kind of event** — meetups, conferences, dinners, workshops, virtual events, and parties too, anywhere in the world. Hosts get calendars with subscribers, recurring events, memberships, and multi-channel communication: email blasts, SMS, and event chat. Posh’s marketing is SMS-centric, with limits on how many blasts you can send; email campaigns require connecting a Mailchimp account, and there are no community calendar features. Both platforms cover the ticketing basics well — tiers, promo codes, waitlists that work for sold-out paid events, approval-required registration, QR check-in, and guest list export.

For ticketed events, the most apparent difference is cost: Posh’s 10% + $0.99 per ticket is among the highest fees in the category.

## Where Luma Shines

1. **Lower fees**: 0% platform fee with Luma Plus and 5% on the Free plan, versus Posh’s 10% + $0.99.
2. **Built for every kind of event**: Posh is purpose-built for nightlife; Luma works for your whole event calendar.
3. **Community tools**: Calendars with subscribers, recurring events, memberships, newsletters, and event chat keep your audience engaged between events.
4. **Works worldwide**: International events, currencies, and payouts. Posh is US-focused.
5. **Broader integrations**: Zapier, an API, webhooks, embeds, and CRM integrations.

## Why You Might Choose Posh

- **Kickback promoter program** – If you run on promoter networks, built-in per-ticket commissions with tracked links are genuinely powerful.
- **Tables & bottle service** – Sell tables with seating maps, full-price or deposit models.
- **Nightlife discovery** – A social feed where guests discover nightlife events, which can drive incremental ticket sales.
