Event Chat

Allow your event guests to chat with each other via event chat

You can create an Event Chat from the Luma iOS app, in your event > Manage Event > Create Chat.

Once you create an event chat, we'll automatically add all event hosts and approved guests. As guests register, they will be added to the chat. They will also be notified that a Chat has started for your event.

We support chatting from the luma.com website and the iOS app. But as an event host, you'll need the luma.com/ios app to start an Event Chat.

As guests register for and cancel their registration, we will automatically add and remove them from the event chat.

Archiving an Event Chat

If you no longer need the event chat, you can archive it from the Luma iOS app:

  1. Open the event chat
  2. Tap the chat header to open the chat detail screen
  3. Tap More > Archive Chat

Archiving the chat will prevent anyone from sending new messages. Participants can still find it in their archived chat list. This is useful for past events where the chat is no longer relevant.
