Blocking Users

How to block and unblock other users on Luma

If someone is bothering you, you can block them from their profile page.

How to Block Someone

Open the user’s profile, tap the ... menu, and select Block User. You’ll be asked to confirm before the block takes effect.

What Happens When You Block Someone

When you block someone, they can no longer:

  • Send you direct messages or start new conversations with you
  • Send you event invites
  • Add you as a host or co-host on their events
  • Register for your events

Any pending event invites from them will be declined, and any existing direct message conversation between you will be archived. You also won’t be able to message them unless you unblock them first.

Blocking does not affect group or event chats or existing RSVPs.

Viewing Your Blocked Users

In the Luma app on iOS or Android, you can see everyone you’ve blocked in one place. Tap your profile icon → SettingsPermissionsBlocked Users.

From here, you can open someone’s profile or tap the ... menu next to their name to unblock them.

Reviewing Invites

If you’re getting unwanted event invites, you can review everyone who has invited you to events. In the Luma app, go to SettingsPermissionsBlocked UsersReview Invites.

For each person, you’ll see the events they’ve invited you to and how many invites you accepted. Tap the ... menu next to their name to block them — they won’t be able to invite you to future events, and any pending invites from them will be declined.

How to Unblock Someone

Visit the blocked user’s profile, tap the ... menu, and select Unblock User. You can also unblock someone from your blocked users list in SettingsPermissionsBlocked Users.

What the Other Person Sees

When someone you’ve blocked visits your profile, they’ll see a message that they’ve been blocked. They won’t be able to see your events or message you.

Mutual Blocking

If both users block each other, both blocks work independently. Unblocking on your end does not remove the other person’s block.
