Unsubscribing from a Host
If you’re getting emails from a host you no longer want to hear from, the most reliable way to stop them is the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email you’ve received from them.
From One of Their Emails
Open a recent email from the host and scroll to the bottom — every email has an Unsubscribe link. One click takes you to a confirmation page on Luma. Confirm there and you’re done.
You’ll also have the option to decline any pending invites from that host at the same time.
This is the right approach whether you subscribed to them yourself or were added to their contact list (for example, if they imported your email from a CSV or you were invited by them in the past).
From Your Preferences Page
You can also manage subscriptions at luma.com/settings/preferences. Scroll to the bottom to see Calendars and Discover Pages you’ve subscribed to, with a one-click unsubscribe next to each.
Heads up: this page only lists hosts you’ve actively subscribed to (by tapping Subscribe on their calendar page). If a host added you as a contact some other way — for example, by importing your email or inviting you to an event — they won’t appear here. For those, use the Unsubscribe link in one of their emails instead.
What Unsubscribing Stops
Once you unsubscribe from a host, you won’t receive:
- Invitations to their future events
- Calendar newsletters and posts
- Reminders for their upcoming events
- Event updates and blasts from the host
What It Doesn’t Stop
A few things keep working:
- Tickets you’ve already bought: Receipts and refund notifications for past purchases will still be sent.
- Already-confirmed RSVPs: If you’re registered for one of their upcoming events and want out, change your RSVP to "Not Going" on the event page. Unsubscribing (even with decline pending invites) won’t cancel registrations you’ve already confirmed.
Can the Host Re-Add Me?
No. Once you’ve unsubscribed, the host can’t bring you back — not by inviting you to a new event, and not by re-importing your email. Only you can resubscribe.
Still Receiving Emails?
If you’ve unsubscribed but emails keep showing up, the most common cause is that they’re going to a different address — or coming from a different calendar — than the one you unsubscribed from.
- Email aliases and forwards: A host may have your work email, a Gmail "+tag", or another address on file that forwards into the same inbox. Each address is a separate contact — unsubscribing one doesn’t unsubscribe the others. Check the To: field on a recent email to see which address it’s actually going to, then unsubscribe from that one.
- Multiple Luma accounts: If you’ve signed up with more than one email, you might be unsubscribed under one account but still receiving under another.
- The host runs more than one calendar: A single person or organization can manage several calendars (for example, a main brand calendar plus city-specific or topic-specific ones). Unsubscribing from one calendar doesn’t unsubscribe you from the others. Use the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of each new email to opt out of each calendar individually.
- A different host: Event names and topics can look similar across hosts. Check the From: address or the sender name at the top of the email to confirm who’s actually sending it.
If you’ve checked all of the above and still see emails from the same calendar to the same address, reach out to support with the subject line and "From" address of a recent email.
Resubscribing
If you change your mind, visit the host’s calendar page on Luma and tap Subscribe again.
