Chat on Luma

You can chat with other Luma users through direct messages and group chats. Chat is available on the web, iOS app, and Android app.

On the web, visit luma.com/chat for a dedicated chat experience. On desktop, you’ll also see a chat bubble in the bottom right of your screen. On mobile web, the chat bubble is hidden — use the iOS or Android app to chat on your phone.

Direct Messages and Groups

Send one-on-one messages with any Luma user by clicking the chat icon and searching for someone.

You can also create group chats with multiple people. Give your group a name and avatar. Admins can add or remove participants.

Reactions and Replies

You can react to messages with any emoji, and reply to specific messages to keep conversations organized.

Safety and Privacy

Muting Conversations

If you want to stop receiving notifications from a chat, you can mute it temporarily or forever. Open the conversation info and select Mute. You’ll still see new messages when you open the app.

Blocking Users

If someone is bothering you, you can block them. This prevents them from starting new conversations with you, and any existing conversation will be archived.

You can block someone from their profile page or from the conversation details via the ... menu.

Reporting Inappropriate Content

If you receive spam, harassment, or inappropriate messages, you can report it.

Open the conversation details or menu and choose Report User. Provide details about what happened.

Our team will review your report and take action. All reports are confidential.
