Calendar Status

Set a calendar to active, coming soon, or archived

Every team calendar has a status that controls whether people can follow it and submit events. You can change it anytime from your calendar’s settings. Personal calendars don’t have a status.

How to Change Your Calendar Status

  1. Go to your calendar’s manage page
  2. Click Settings
  3. Open the Options tab
  4. Under Calendar Status, click Change Status
  5. Choose a status and click Update Status

The Three Statuses

  • Active — the calendar is live and accepting followers and event submissions.
  • Coming Soon — a placeholder page is shown. Visitors can still follow it and submit events, so you can build an audience before you launch.
  • Archived — the calendar is paused. Its page shows an archived notice, visitors can no longer follow it or submit events, and it stops appearing on Luma’s discover pages. The page itself stays publicly accessible.

Changing status is reversible, and switching between statuses never deletes your events, guest lists, or analytics. Archiving is the best option for a calendar you’re no longer running but want to keep.

While an archived calendar’s page stays up, we tell search engines not to index it — Google will drop it from results after its next recrawl. Restoring the calendar to active makes it indexable again.

Deleting Instead

If you want to permanently remove a calendar and its events rather than pause it, see Deleting a Calendar. Deleting can’t be undone.
