Deleting a Calendar

Whether you’re shutting down a business, cleaning up a test calendar, or just no longer need a calendar, you can delete it from Luma.

How to Delete a Calendar

1. Go to your calendar’s manage page
2. Click Settings
3. Open the Options tab
4. Scroll to the bottom and click Permanently Delete Calendar
5. Confirm in the popup that appears

Before You Delete

You’ll need to:

• Transfer any events you want to keep. Events stay on the calendar and will be deleted along with it — including past events and their guest lists. If you want to keep an event, move it to another calendar first via Manage Event > Overview > Visibility & Discovery. See Managing Events with Calendars.
• Export any data you need. Once deleted, you won’t be able to access guest lists or analytics. Download your calendar audience as a CSV from the People tab, and export each event’s guest list from Manage Event > Guests.
• Cancel all future events. Any upcoming events must be canceled first.
• Remove members on recurring tiers. If any tier with a recurring (paid subscription) plan has active members, you’ll need to remove them from the Members tab before you can delete. Declining a member from the Members tab cancels their Stripe subscription. Free and one-time tier members don’t block deletion — we’ll decline their memberships automatically when the calendar is deleted.
• Unsubscribe from Luma Plus. If the calendar has an active Luma Plus subscription, cancel it from Calendar Settings > Luma Plus.

Note: Personal calendars can’t be deleted since they serve as your default place for hosting events. If you want to remove your personal calendar, you’ll need to delete your Luma account instead.

What Happens When You Delete

When you delete a calendar:

• All events on the calendar are deleted with it. This includes past events, their guest lists, and any analytics. If you want to keep an event, transfer it to another calendar before deleting.
• Past events become inaccessible. Guests will no longer be able to view event pages for past events that were on this calendar.
• The calendar URL is released. Someone else may claim the URL in the future.
• This action is permanent. Deleted calendars and their events can’t be recovered, even by Luma support.
