Managing Calendar Contacts
You can see the list of Calendar Contacts by opening luma.com/home/calendars → Choosing a Calendar → then opening the People tab.
There are a few different ways people are added to that list:
- Someone can Subscribe to your calendar from the public Calendar page.
- You can import people by uploading a CSV or Excel file, or by manually entering their emails.
- When a guest registers for an event managed by your calendar, they are automatically added to your People list.
Bulk Importing Contacts
You can import multiple contacts at once to quickly build your calendar audience. This feature is especially useful when onboarding an existing community or migrating from another platform.
Import Methods
- Upload a CSV or Excel file with contact information
- Copy and paste a list of email addresses
Organizing During Import
During the import process, you can organize your new contacts by:
- Applying tags to categorize them (e.g., “VIP”, “Press”, “Sponsors”)
- Assigning membership types if you have different tiers or groups
These bulk-applied tags and memberships help you segment your audience for targeted communications later. Both import methods support the same tagging and membership options.
Managing Your Contacts
You can tag contacts, filter by tags, and sort by name, number of events attended, or number of events checked in.
When you click on a Calendar Contact, you can see more details about them.
Removing a Contact
From the Calendar Contact detail panel, you have a couple options to remove a contact:
- Block them so they will not be able to Subscribe in the future or join any of your events.
- Remove them so that they will be opted out of your future Invites and Newsletters. If you Remove a contact, they will have the option to subscribe again in the future. So this is a good option if someone has asked you to unsubscribe them.
Inactive Members
Contacts who aren’t receiving your communications are kept in a separate list. The main People tab only shows active contacts, so if someone isn’t appearing there, they’re likely in one of these three states:
- Removed by Admin — you or another admin clicked Remove on them. They can re-subscribe themselves at any time.
- Unsubscribed — they clicked the unsubscribe link in one of your emails, or marked one as spam.
- Blocked by Admin — you or another admin blocked them. They can’t subscribe again or join your events.
To view these lists, open the People tab, click the action menu in the top-right, and choose Unsubscribed Members, Removed by Admin, or Blocked by Admin.
Restoring a Contact
Open a contact from one of the inactive lists and click Restore to move them back to your active People list. This works for Removed and Blocked contacts. You can’t restore an Unsubscribed contact yourself — only the person can re-subscribe, since they opted out.
Note: if a Removed contact later registers for one of your events, they’ll still stay in the inactive list. Use Restore to bring them back to your active People list.
